Dear Fellow TeacherStudents,
So tonight at 6:30ish Stella Maris and I sat down in a zoom meeting and worked for 2 hours on setting up Radical Faerie LIberation School! I first shared this idea in late 2019 and Stella was the biggest supporter from the git go. This evening we had our magical catalyzing and manifesting date!
We registered the domain name RadicalFaerieLiberation.School, got the shopify account set up, the domain name linked to the shopify store, our first product listed in the store, and processed a bunch of how to make all that work as we shared a zoom screen. Then Stella took off after a long day of zooming. I couldn't wait til our next work date next week.
So since I have 4 years experience running a Shopify store I spent another 4 hours rooting around the back room of this brand new shopify store. It had that fresh website smell! I filled the home page with content based on the template we had selected for the store. I set up 10 pages with titles and placeholder content including links to some videos, pictures, and stuff. Then created 8 collections for different groups to classify their products in, wrote a menu and linked up the navigation, connected the google analytics to the store to track traffic, and finally created a FB page to link the website to for promotional purposes (but we're boycotting the mofos with any ad dollars THIS month!).
Now I'm creating a little post to document this incredibly successful and fulfilling 6 hour run of of about 8+ Faerie Community Labor hours of exercises in community building for our radical faerie friends and family. I had really hoped to do this BEFORE I went to South Africa in February but here we are. It amazes me what 2 hours of 2 people working together and 4 hours of obsessively focused time can yield!
This isn't an official "launch" but if you're reading this and want to see what it looks like, I probably won't work on any more structural stuff until next Monday morning or Wednesday evening. I will probably be putting a few new products in there though. FEEDBACK ON STRUCTURE, DESIGN, LAYOUT, etc. PLEASE! Keep in mind that NONE of the content is gonna stick around, other than products. It's all just holding a place for it's next better version of itself.
